Case Study: Boosting Enrollments and Awareness for Providence Country Day

Providence Country Day (PCD), a top private school in Rhode Island, sought to boost enrollment and brand visibility. To achieve this, PCD launched a year-long campaign highlighting its unique value. Leveraging video’s impact, PCD partnered with us to craft a compelling visual narrative showcasing its character, academic rigor, and vibrant community.

Strategy and Execution

To maximize our shoot days and budget, we spent a full day at PCD, immersing ourselves in the school’s rhythm and building rapport with faculty, staff, and students. This prep ensured a smooth, efficient shoot and a relaxed, collaborative set, leading to authentic footage. Careful shot planning allowed us to create a 30-second spot plus multiple cut-downs, extending the campaign’s reach while optimizing resources.

30 Second
Brand Ad

We showcased the essence of PCD by letting the visuals tell the story. Footage captured the vibrant life of the campus, showcasing its modern facilities, inviting classrooms, and tight knit community. Utilizing a vibrant and dynamic lighting approach, we aimed to visually reflect the energy and optimism that define the PCD community; bright, bold and fun. In postproduction, we added text overlays to further tell the story of who PCD is and what they stand for.

Strategic Cut Downs

Through meticulous pre-production planning, we optimized shoot days to capture a diverse range of footage. This approach enabled the production of four distinct cut-down versions of the primary 30-second spot. Following a four-week exclusive run of the 30-second spot, these shorter versions were integrated into the media plan. This approach ensured that audiences familiar with the longer format were seamlessly transitioned to these more concise versions, specifically tailored for streaming TV, social media, and pre-roll platforms. By diversifying our content in this manner, we maximized the reach and impact of PCD’s message across a wider spectrum of digital channels.

The increase in web traffic meant they could gather more information and start retargeting those visitors with email blasts, static ads, and even direct mail, which led to a spike in enrollment.

Increased Awareness

The campaign received positive feedback from parents, faculty, and community members who praised the videos for their ability to capture the spirit of the school. The 30 second spot was shared on social media more than any of their other pieces of content.

"Working with Third Spoon on our enrollment campaign was such a great experience. They really got what we were going for and turned our ideas into a powerful, engaging video series that went beyond what we imagined. On set, the team was amazing—super easy to work with and made everyone feel totally comfortable, even with all the cameras and lights. If you're looking for a creative team that delivers great results, I can’t recommend them enough!"
