What is it?

A commercial video ad, whether on TV or online, is a concise, branding-focused video—typically 30 seconds or less, but no more than 60 seconds—that highlights your company, product, or service. Unlike an explainer video, a commercial video remains high-level, avoiding detailed explanations of what you do or how you do it. Its purpose is to capture attention, spark interest, and generate excitement about your brand. Think of it as a teaser designed to attract potential customers. For online content, a digital ad campaign can be an excellent way to amplify your brand message and maximize the impact of your commercial video production. If you’re aiming for a subtler approach where your company takes a backseat, consider exploring branded video production instead.

What are the benefits?

1
High Quality
Impress your viewers with film quality production. Our team is extremely talented and our gear is all top of the line. Everything is broadcast-ready and optimized for any platform.
2
Creativity
A commercial video is a chance to show off some creativity. You only have a short amount of time to get the viewers attention, so let’s make it memorable.
3
Wide Reach
If you go big with a commercial, you’re going to reach a larger audience than ever before. A brand’s presence on TV and larger digital platforms can lend credibility and legitimacy.

How should I use it?

A video ad is best utilized at the top of the marketing funnel, where its primary role is to generate awareness and excitement for a product or service. Instead of focusing on television, we recommend distributing your ads through digital channels like YouTube, Facebook, streaming platforms, and other online avenues as part of a targeted digital ad campaign. As part of our commercial projects, we often create multiple videos—either tailored versions of the same ad or unique videos based on a shared concept.

It’s important to note that achieving traction usually requires a marketing investment to promote your ad. While viral success isn’t guaranteed, several of our paid campaigns have quickly racked up thousands and thousands of views!

Commercial Video FAQ's

How do you come up with a concept?
Developing a concept for a commercial video spot is one of the most exciting and enjoyable parts of our work. The goal of any ad is simple: to generate excitement about your product or service. To achieve that, our team needs to feel that same enthusiasm, crafting creative ideas that captivate and connect with your audience. The process begins with immersing ourselves in your product or service, gaining a deep understanding of your market and customers, and crafting innovative concepts that strike the perfect balance between creativity and strategy.
How do you measure success?
For commercials, view count is a key indicator of success—if people aren’t watching, the ad can’t fulfill its purpose. As mentioned earlier, achieving a substantial number of views often requires dedicating part of your budget to promoting the spot. Once you’ve boosted visibility, monitor engagement to see how much of your ad viewers are watching. For a 15-30 second commercial, engagement rates should ideally fall between 80% and 90%.
How much does a commercial video cost?
On it's own, the cost of a commercial video production generally ranges from $25,000 to $75,000, depending on factors such as the video’s style and complexity, its length, the intended distribution platforms, and any licensing fees for music and talent. Some factors have bigger impacts on the price and budget than others. Those include: number of shoot locations, days of shooting, number of acting talent, size of crew, 3D animations, music licensing, and set construction. However, utilizing our tailored packages to create a series of videos, the per-video cost will decrease as the number of videos in the production cycle increases.
How long does a commericial video production take?
Commercial video ads are designed to capture attention, which often requires additional time for production. For instance, some ads may require creating 3D environments and characters, others could rely on good weather for a shoot, or some may require a rigorous casting process. These elements are time-intensive, but you can typically plan for a timeline of 6-12 weeks.
